Treatment Overview
Gentle, atraumatic tooth removal and wisdom tooth surgical disimpaction using precision micro-instruments for rapid healing.
When is Tooth Extraction Necessary?
While preserving natural teeth is always our priority, extraction becomes necessary when a tooth is unrestorable due to extensive root fracture, severe periodontal bone loss, or when impacted wisdom teeth cause recurring pain, jaw cysts, or crowd adjacent teeth. Our surgical team uses atraumatic extraction techniques that preserve surrounding jawbone architecture.
Key Benefits
- Atraumatic Extraction: Periotome instruments gently sever periodontal fibers, preserving the socket wall for future implants.
- Painless Oral Surgery: Deep local anesthesia blocks all sensation throughout the procedure.
- Rapid Recovery Protocol: Sutured socket closure and clot stabilization promote quick healing within 3-5 days.
Pre-Treatment Instructions
- Eat a light meal prior to surgery (do not come fasting unless IV sedation was planned).
- Inform the oral surgeon of all medications, especially blood thinners (Ecosprin, Warfarin) or bisphosphonates.
- Arrange for a family member or friend to accompany you if undergoing surgical wisdom tooth removal.
Post-Treatment Care & Instructions
- Bite firmly on the sterile gauze pack for 45 minutes; discard gently without disturbing the socket.
- Do NOT spit, smoke, drink with a straw, or rinse violently for 24 hours to prevent dry socket.
- Apply a cold ice pack to the cheek for 15 minutes on / 15 minutes off today.
- Eat soft, chilled foods (ice cream, yogurt, cold milk, curd rice). Avoid spicy, hot foods.
- Start gentle warm salt-water rinses 24 hours after the procedure (3 times daily).
- Visit for suture removal after 7 days if non-dissolvable stitches were placed.
